Over the years, he served as Councillor of the Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar, contributed as a Trustee of the Jalandhar Improvement Trust, and later became President of the District Congress Committee, Jalandhar. His dedication to public service culminated in his election as the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Jalandhar Central, serving from 2017 to 2022.
